If you live in Connecticut, you’re in luck!
PaintCare, a non-profit organization, has partnered with paint, hardware and home improvement stores, who now accept unused house paint for recycling. PaintCare turns your unused paint into fuel or other products, or they otherwise dispose of it properly.
Visit their website at www.paintcare.org or call their hotline at 855.724.6809 for the participating retailer nearest you. And recycling is free for you, having been funded upfront by consumers purchasing paint.
Here’s what our local retailer told us:
-Five gallons are accepted per person per day
-Paint must be in it’s original can, and with its original label
-Both latex and oil paints are accepted
